PV Sindhu
India badminton star PV Sindhu finally opened up on her biographical film to be made by actor-producer Sonu Sood on Saturday, but refused to clear the air over reports that actress Deepika Padukone may play the lead role.
The 21-year-old Hyderabadi made history when she became the first Indian woman to claim an Olympic medal for her country in badminton – a silver at the Rio Olympics last year, inspiring Sood to make a movie based on her career. In an interview with web portal NNIS, Sindhu recalled the moment she was approached got the biopic. “When Sonu Sood and his team came forward, I was very happy to hear about it. They have done research for over eight months, and I think it (the movie) will inspire millions,” she said.
About reports that Padukone may play the lead role, the world No. 4 said: “I have left that decision to Sonu and his team.”
