Anil Kumble shocked the cricket world when he stepped down from his post as the head coach of the Indian cricket team.

Kumble's announcement comes just one day after it was reported that Kohli had conveyed "strong reservations" over Kumble continuing as coach to the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

While this comes as a huge blow to the Indian cricket world, many feel it was probably a wise decision by Anil Kumble.

India's first gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra went on to voice his opinion on the issue on social media website Twitter. While his tweet did not involve any names in particular, he did make it clear who he was targetting. Here's what the gold medallist went on to say.

India's women's doubles badminton player Jwala Gutta, too, came out in support of Abhinav Bindra's tweet and replied to it.

During the entire Champions Trophy, there was hardly any communication between Kohli and Kumble during the practice session with chief coach mostly keeping to himself or giving some practice to the bowlers.

Riesterer was part of Bindra's support staff during his gold medal-winning performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He was there with him at last year's Games as well where he finished 4th in the 10m air rifle event before calling it a day.

Kumble's decision to step down came just two days after India's embarrassing loss to Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy final.

Indian captain Virat Kohli has not replied to this comment.
